Midtown Manhattan is home to the majority of New York’s skyscrapers and has perhaps the most recognizable skyline in the world. The neighborhood is home to some of the most well-known buildings and institutions in the world, including the Empire State and Chrysler buildings, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Terminal, Broadway, Times Square, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Bryant Park. Midtown is home to the main branch of the New York Public Library, known worldwide for its architecture.
Midtown is also the largest business district in the world and is home to the flagship stores of many major companies, including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Apple, Macy’s and Adidas, among others. The streets are dotted with vendors and outdoor dining cafes, and the sidewalks are nearly always bustling.
