Brooklyn used to be known as a distant land far away from Manhattan, where one feels secluded from the rest of New York. But things have changed in the last few years for Brooklyn. In Brooklyn you feel a sense of community. The neighbors, the small businesses, and the family-owned restaurants all know each other. There is nothing more comforting than being able to grab a coffee and say hello to all of your neighbors.
If you love to go shopping, then Brooklyn has something special for you. If you like shopping the main brands, then you are in luck. Williamsburg and Prospect Heights are known for shopping, whether it is for yourself, your friend, or shopping for your apartment. If you want to find the niche shopping spots, there is a weekly Brooklyn Flea market in DUMBO where you can browse between second hand and vintage clothes. There is an annual holiday market in Brooklyn where you can find all of your holiday cheer.
If you want to explore the nature side of Brooklyn, then you should check out the parks! Go and explore the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, or the Liberty State Park. There are less people in Brooklyn, so you can sit down with a book and blanket, and relax. After you check out the parks, you and your co living roommates can have a night out at the famous Brooklyn bars like Sunken Harbor Club, Night of Joy, or Brooklyn Social.
The Wilson House is in a great neighborhood that gives you something to do every day of the week. In the immediate neighborhood there is a park, Irving Square Park, that is less than 5 minutes away for you to spend a Saturday having a picnic with your friends. Need a coffee before work? There are plenty of coffee shops to give you your caffeine fix. You and your roommates can check out any of the neighborhood restaurants like Santa Panza, La Fatima, or Maya Fusion Café.
The Wilson house is walking distance form bus stops and subway stop, so you can still explore Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx.
